Elastic lending loans work differently from a traditional installment loan. You're approved once for a revolving credit limit, then you control how much you draw, when you draw it and how quickly you repay. This page walks through the full Elastic process — from application to your final payment — so you know exactly what to expect.
Step 1: Apply online in about five minutes
The Elastic application is completed entirely online; there are no branches and applications aren't taken by phone. You'll be asked for:
- Your name, date of birth, address and Social Security number
- Your state and ZIP code (to confirm Elastic is offered where you live)
- Employer or income source, pay frequency and net monthly income
- Monthly housing expense
- Checking account and routing number for deposits and payments
Step 2: Get a credit decision and your limit
Elastic reviews your credit report, income and banking information. If approved, you'll see a credit limit between $500 and $4,500 and receive your Line of Credit Agreement, which spells out your fee schedule, payment frequency and rights. Read it carefully before you e-sign — it's the binding document, and it's where your exact carried-balance fee tiers are listed.
Step 3: Request a cash advance
From your online account you choose how much to draw, up to your available credit. A cash advance fee — typically 5% or 10% of the advance depending on your payment schedule — is deducted, and the remainder is sent by ACH to your checking account. Funding is often as soon as the next business day. Learn more on our Elastic cash advances page.
Step 4: Repay on your pay schedule
Payments are scheduled to match how you're paid: bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly. Each payment includes a portion of your principal plus any carried-balance fee for that cycle. You can pay by AutoPay, make one-time online payments or mail a payment. Paying more than the minimum reduces the principal faster, which lowers future carried-balance fees. See Elastic repayment options.
Step 5: Reuse your available credit
As you pay down principal, your available credit is restored. You can draw again at any time without a new application, as long as your account is in good standing. That's what makes Elastic lending loans a true line of credit rather than a one-time loan.
Understanding the cooling-off period
Elastic is designed for short-term use. If your account carries a balance for 10 consecutive months, it enters a cooling-off period: you can't take new cash advances until your balance has been at or below $0 for 20 consecutive days, or you've paid your balance in full. This guardrail helps prevent long-term debt cycles.
Managing your online account
Elastic lending loans are managed entirely online. Your secure account dashboard puts every part of your line of credit in one place, available 24/7 from a computer, tablet or phone browser.

- Review statements every cycle and report anything unfamiliar right away.
Make the dashboard work for you
- Check your balance the day before each payday.
- Set a personal "max draw" well below your credit limit.
- Download each statement into a folder so you can track progress month to month.
How it works: common questions
How long does the Elastic application take?
Most people finish the online application in about five minutes and receive a decision right away.
Do I have to reapply for each cash advance?
No. Once your line is open you can request new cash advances up to your available credit from your online account.
When is my first payment due?
Your first payment is usually due on the first scheduled pay date that falls at least several days after your cash advance; the exact date is on your statement.
